Let’s Talk Teaching.

Why Teach Piano?

Have you heard the theory that doing what you love makes work not feel like a job? Confucius said it best, “Choose a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day in your life” That is true when your passion is music, and you can turn it into a career.

You get the reward of sharing your love of music, teaching the next generation how to play piano and growing your own skills at the same time.

At Edmonton Suzuki Piano School, we strive to create a community for our families and teachers. Whether you choose to teach full or part-time with ESPS, you become a part of this rewarding system. The Suzuki approach develops essential life skills for the student that will carry them far into the world: confidence, goal-setting, problem-solving, tenacity, perseverance and poise.

ESPS teachers are professional musicians and music educators who provide lessons in studios throughout Edmonton and surrounding communities. You can visit here to learn more about our teachers or how to become a teacher.  Our teachers are the key to success at ESPS. They excel at connecting with our families and embracing our Suzuki community mindset.

Best of Both Worlds

Having the freedom of a career in music through operating a studio is a big draw for many piano teachers. When the teachers are a part of ESPS, they get the best of both worlds. The piano teachers operate their studios, teach their students based on a schedule of their own creation, and determine their recital and performance dates. ESPS, in turn, provides administrative coordination so teachers can focus on teaching and playing music. The ESPS team organizes special events, offering parent education programming and coordinating performance opportunities like recitals and graduations. Teachers attend and assist at special events and collaborate with the greater ESPS community.

Community

The life of a self-employed individual can be isolating, even when you love what you do. Our teacher contractors can retain their independent business but operate with a feeling of community inclusion through the ESPS organization.  ESPS teachers immediately benefit from a network of like-minded teachers who support each other. Our Suzuki "triangle" is designed to support each learner and reinforces that community-minded approach. The teacher, parent, and student work together to create a supportive and effective learning environment.

Life Long Learning

For our teacher contractors, we provide professional development opportunities for both Suzuki certification and other training opportunities. This is a benefit to teachers and students alike. ESPS teachers are continually updating and upgrading their skills, and the students are assured that they receive lessons from the best and brightest teachers who are invested in their craft.

By joining the ESPS community, you get an immediate network of like-minded peers to support your journey. You get access to marketing resources to help support and grow your studio. You receive administrative support for running the studio so you can focus more time directly on teaching. ESPS also offers ongoing training opportunities for its teachers as a direct investment into our team.
