Meet The Teachers

Andrew Blimke

Andrew discovered the piano at the age of 8, and it has been his passion ever since. His childhood lessons propelled him to obtain a Bachelor of Music Degree from The King’s University and a Master of Music degree in Musicology from the University of Western Ontario. Andrew also holds a Level 10 RCM, a University Diploma in Church Music, training in piano pedagogy, choral conducting, organ performance, Kodály Level 1, and Suzuki Book 1.

A lifelong learner and music lover, Andrew’s Master's thesis involved original research into the historical foundations of community music-making and music teaching in North America.

The passion he ignited as an 8-year-old boy remains. As an adult, music education—his advanced learning and bringing that knowledge to others—and building a community continue to fuel Andrew. He loves helping students gain the skills they need for a lifetime of joyful and fulfilling musical experiences.

Andrew's pedagogy focuses on helping students understand their learning process and become independent and empowered learners in every situation. His most publicized community-building project is the hand-drawn Caroling Cart (complete with lights and piano keyboard), which has delivered Christmas cheer all across South Edmonton since 2020.
